Large Number Slain in Kabul

Posted by HCN on Monday, July 25, 2016
Many of us had in the beginning of our Saturday morning the news that a large number were slain in Kabul, Afghanistan, perhaps about 80.  This comes just hours after a frightening attack the claimed the lives of over 8 persons in Munich, Germany.  There were a few other events that were marked as violent anomalies previous to them as well that received international attention.

Suicide blasts in Afghanistan in the past 2 or 3 years can be described almost as rife in terms of the frequency of occurrence to regions where it barely occurs at all.

Had it not been Kabul, had it not been 80 victims, such as 20 victims in a lesser known city, the story of a mass slaying in Afghanistan in these current times, might have been momentarily written about by a few smaller newspapers or activist sites, then not heard from again.  What a large number of victims is, seems to be getting redefined.
