One of the largest cities in South America, Rio de Janeiro has seen a number of dimensions of changes in society. 

On the down side, there might be unsettled discomfort with a senses of violence in the atmosphere in regions with the circumstances. 

In the news today, May 18th 2015, an apartment underwent some kind of explosion which news reports appear to point to as a gas explosion, within the past 2 or 3 days, possibly even recent to earlier today.

Sky News reported a story last Monday, the 29th of December, that 4 members of a family were lost after a lightning strike and storm hit the region.

A valuable lesson has been taught for beaches everywhere, to take serious into consideration imminent storms where there could be lightning, and to go forward with evacuation and safety precautions when asked to leave the beaches.
