The following statement was set in the front page emergency red box at the top of the fron page of this website the evening of April 10, 2021:
Saturday April 10, 2021: There is an emergency situation in Myanmar. Reports are over 80 persons killed in a single day in Bago, evidently yesterday, Friday, thereabout; and a few weeks back, there was a major incident where over 100 lives lost in Yangon. Details still becoming clear, thus far what has been read from sources and re-posted here, is a military has seized power, and are engaged in some kind of 'crackdown' on individuals that revolt against the entity. The concentration of fatalities within specific areas for the unit time, is in world shock level. This looks like the type of stuff that went on in Bosnia in the late 1980s early 1990s reference to genocide.
News soures say over 700 killed -estimated since the coup about 2 months ago?
Questions being looked into, to provide a full story with background:
Are specific groups being targeted?
Who is directing suppression of revolts to this level of severity?
Crimes against humanity?
Crimes against humanity? -nonintervention
Are these events somehow connected to years long suppression of certain targeted ethnic groups?
What do the demonstrators, want? news reports say they are pro-Democratic; is that the totality?
What is the current state of government in the region? -recognized, unrecognized
Who else is behind directing violence, orchestrating violent crackdowns, besides the alleged leader of the recent military coup, General Min Aung Hlaing?
Are sanctions enough, is a major weapons confistication appropriate?
-Globally popular pieces of technology, Facebook, Zoom, involved with governmental processes -- unpopular treatment of people; it does not match up
Further information about the situation in Myanmar/Burma can be provided when information obtained
