US news source inform us Iran Revolutionary Guard seized a Greek tanker.

What all the reasons why the seizure occurred may not have been stated verbatim. This also refers to the rationale, and 'charges' the Iran force had on the Greek ship.
Location of event, the Persian Gulf.
Most know Iran goes back to ancient times, a few history key words, 'Iwgga, Ur, Ajam, and so on. Greece, aside from overlaps, reference to Mycenaean, Iliad and Odyssey, Minoa, and so forth.
For events to be happening involving near acts of war, between Iran and Greece, as made known to popular US press, is bluntly, unusual.
It of course begs the question, what is behind the unusual advents?
First thing that might come to mind, especially by those that read the papers, and even tenuously keep up with major current events altogether in the Persian Gulf, is considering all those events, many of them have had to do with either piracy, or drug trafficking or raiding. Summarily, a bunch of trumped up pointing guns, or one team of trained raiders jumps on another boat, around and around, is almost an expectation these days in the Persian Gulf. Safe keepers and law enforcement out there every day might see something different. For those of us that rely on TV, Internet, radio, and newspaper, cloudiness and big ships is what we see, and perhaps the perceivers reality in framework (of the reality/perception science).
It might be, that there is ongoing behavior under color of a flag in the Persian Gulf in general.
(Once those tankers are out there in the water, there are many different things that can happen with them, or in them, distinct from the policy of the nation they are supposedly operating under, degree of independent operating a whole additional discussion).
So what would make this situation any different?, this before making an implication there is not anything different.
One reason, is the US would hope that our allies, would abide by the standards of dignity that make them our allies. Hence, valid reasons for a Greek ship to be seized by anyone in terms of a law infraction, or one administered to by law enforcement, would not exist.
From there comes the assumption that the Greek ship did no wrong, and therefore Iran seizing the ship is indicative of an act of aggression on their part, regardless of allegiances and ongoing tensions.
Looking at the entire situation from a neutral, unbiased party in outer space for instance, how does it all get judged?
Easy; all the facts get put out on the table.
This list may include:
Again, all facts before court, not kangaroo court, not biased propaganda depending on what language the newspaper is in, could help in figuring this all out, and importantly, possibly preventing a larger number of these seizure type situations, which could mount and lead to serious tensions.

Easy; all the facts get put out on the table.
This list may include:
- What were the 'infractions' Iran cited?
- Did the elements comprising 'infractions', whether truly infractions, actually exist, and if so, to what degree?
- If infractions did exist according to Iran, are they infractions elsewhere?
- If infractions did occur, was who ever did them responsible independent from Greece, or is Greece partially or wholly responsible?
- Where, and what were all the places everything happened? This might have some factor affect, as to whose territorial waters, and the corresponding water laws, it was when what happened occurred.
- Given all the above, was the Iran raiders right or wrong, or mixed bag, how does it all break down, in international law?
- Are any and all of the Revolutionary Guard raiders acting entirely on behalf of the Iran, the Revolutionary Guard, or is it yet another situation of a greedy individual looking to build a base of power and wealth, playing a sensitive playing field, and of course dangerous, game of straddling numerous fences?
Again, all facts before court, not kangaroo court, not biased propaganda depending on what language the newspaper is in, could help in figuring this all out, and importantly, possibly preventing a larger number of these seizure type situations, which could mount and lead to serious tensions.
Quote translated into English:
"By order of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias, the Secretary General of the Ministry Themistoklis Demiris recently held a strong protest action to the Iranian Ambassador in Athens, regarding the violent seizure of two Greek-flagged ships.
The above acts are essentially equivalent to acts of piracy. The
Secretary-General strongly condemned these acts, which are contrary to fundamental rules of international law and international navigation."

HELLAS
Iran has decided to take "punitive measures" against Greece regarding the seizure, by the US, of Iranian oil cargo off the Greek coast! Dendia Demand in Tehran ...
Iranians recently seized two Greek-flagged tankers in the Persian Gulf in international waters and in retaliation for the occupation of an Iranian tanker outside the island of Evia by the Americans and the seizure and transfer of Iranian oil to the United States. !
The crew on one ship consists of 25 people, two of whom are Greeks, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Merchant Shipping are on an open line to coordinate their movements.
A similar incident was reported to have occurred on another Greek-flagged ship, aboard seven Greek nationals, off the Iranian coast."
khabaraonline ... ir, Persian language source, url ...news/1635494... when translated to English basically says IRGC seized 2 Greek tankers in retaliation for Greek government seizing an Iranian tanker and delivering its oil to Americans.
Chronology in truth at least, please.
