Everyone in the world knows full well that when negative developments concerning the health and well-being of persons amasses to the intensity that thousands upon thousands of lives have either been lost or devastated, then it does become 'the business' of others outside a referent theirs, or whomsoever claims it to be a private, cordoned, constrained, limited to a selected few, and other descriptions, recent decades have witnessed concerning numerous oppressive situations globally.
Clarifying, China representatives in the past couple of decades, a range that can be cited confidently, have traditionally held the stance that their affairs with 'autonomous' regions, are their affairs, as in theirs and others outside are not welcome to meddle in those affairs, whereas logically, there is an ipso facto aspect of this, as without the assertion that they are tied to the autonomous regions, they might not have justification that there are the corresponding internal affairs (comprised of China and the pertinent autonomous regions). On the obverse, representatives from regions seeking complete independence, or perhaps autonomy, might hold the position that internal affairs are null in void corresponding to the other view's effort.
Historically, numerous, numerous is relatively speaking as each and every nuclear test is a very weighted event, nuclear testing has been performed in areas especially westward of China, where the comfort zone of the testing is a serious issue, and how much is necessary to conjecture that the health of individuals living in the region have been affected, or at least threatened, might not be much. The world saw the protests in Hong Kong, reference extradition policy, over the past several years. These were extremely frightening events, altogether, actions from both sides. To abandon the possibilities that the intensity of the strife and injury could escalate, would be foolish on the part of other nations.
On a respectful note, China is a very large and vast nation, with dimensions still yet to be understood in many ways by many Americans; and China is old, in a way meaning mature and developed in thousands of years of history, while the US has basically a few hundred, if 1776 is the benchmark. Within China are many that strive to perform good cause and make lives better for the world; there might not be at all times, one set policy that may sit as a source of discomfort to the US, that absolutely all Chinese agree to at all times.
Video reviews of the summit are indicative that in other areas of discussion, there were positive notes, and goals in congruency.
