When temperatures are over 110F, generally, unless you have special training, special clothing, and on a special mission, generally it is dangerous to step outside for more than a few minutes. Especially if you are not usually in the area, not acclimated to the conditions.
Imagine temperatures over 125 degrees Fahrenheit, during a time where many functions involve being mobile, out in the sun, praying (which may among other things, involve certain motions and expulsion of air while chanting, and use of energy), exercising inner and outer functions, -the stress can be immense.
Not to deter from performing Hajj, but to promote proper wisdom on how to perform the Hajj without acutely putting oneself at risk of health detriments. There are ways to do it, as those temperatures have been experienced in the region before.
For example, use of buses,- slightly tinted windows, well air conditioned, intermittent boarding and onboarding.
More emphasis during briefings to Hajjis about temperature matters before they depart their origin. Etc.
It was reported that a number between 500 to 600 persons passed away during the Hajj season 2024, culminating at about last weekend, middle of June 2024, and possibly days around it, such as arrival and departure zones, and that these were due to heat.
Still there is delayed illness some Hajjis might suffer after returning, staying, or going elsewhere after Hajj.
Multiple UK news sources, India video, and others such as the New York Times have reported on this as well.
