Bombings at Central Masjid in Nigeria City of Kano Claims Over 70 Possibly Over 100 Lives

Compounding the suicide bombings conducted by two females a few days ago, today, there are reports of several bombs detonating, claiming the lives of over a hundred worshipers at the Central Masjid [other words commonly used to refer to the Muslim place of worship are Mosque and Moschia].

The tragedy that took place today, was in the city of Kano, in the northern part of the country.

Other blasts in Nigeria occurred toward the end of June beginning of July about 5 or 6 months ago.

Reports after 5:00pm E.S.T. indicate varying information on body counts and number of injuries.

Gunfire and protesting also broke out in the immediate area.

We do know an act of extremism took place.
One of what might be the big questions at this moment is, extremism in the name of what, for what, what group or cause?  Do any of these even apply; was it a group, or an isolated event triggered by motives specific to a one time situation?
Considering that multiple blasts occurred, there is a high probability there was a degree of coordination in the carrying out of the unleashing of the weaponry.
