Fort Lauderdale Airport in Florida a gunman described as a military
veteran 'possibly' suffering from 'hearing voices', opened fire, the
result, casualties five or more deceased, less than ten deceased, more
than five wounded, less than ten wounded, thus far.  Utilization of the
airport transit system as a stage for carrying out violence, once
again.  2017 has gotten started off with the ice broken in that regard
of airport violence.  The damage done psychologically, such as to
numerous U.S. citizens, is further reaching.  Memories of September 11th
2001 are constantly evoked and re-evoked when the potentialities are
thought of, of what could have gone even further wrong.  The discomfort
that travelers have now, wherever they go or are, is almost constant,
that no airport or flight is immune from some attempt at violence at
some point in the timeline of time itself.
Broad daylight attack,
the gunman might have had the weapon in his baggage.  Reports include
that he might have flown in from another state, perhaps
Alaska.
The good news is, in the future there will be methods of carrying out
violence at airports and airplanes that will simply become obsolete due
to security efforts and development of our civilization.  We must
continue to build and become better in the area of airport security, as
the necessary protection development does not happen all by itself.
Community colleges and high schools in different regions of the U.S. have suffered from similar attacks in the past few years.
