Starting with the Nation's Capital:
During an attempted arrest by several officers, a tussle occurred, the suspect ran to a car, police ran after him, the 35 year old suspect turned the vehicle on, hit the accelerator, leaving two officers thrown to the ground, and the 3rd still in car eventually had to shoot the suspect, court appearance en segue.

3 Deputies Ambushed and 1 a Fatality by AR-15 Armed Suspect Outside Nightclub in Houston Area October 16th 2021

It was after Friday night and into Saturday early morning, 3 deputies doing extra income activities were drawn to a disturbance outside a Houston nightclub, and one was shot fatally, one in the back, and one in the foot, according to a press conference.

As of this moment, 5:25pm EST, the suspect is on the loose.

In at least 2 instances, 2 police officers have died on the same day, in 2 separate locations; in some cases 2 of those honored were from the same State, in Arizona and Georgia.
