Compton, California: Subject of Focus or Abandoned

Every time news stories are looked up having to do with events in Compton, there is enough violent crime on any given day to equal that of some entire states or even countries.

Compton might not make headline national news every day of the week, but if it did, the impression of the amount of crime and type of crime it leaves on viewers could leave less than desirable views.

A simplistic stance of African Americans 'self-destructing' there, and that is their problem, is not an attitude that is leading to a upward progress.

This article is a work in progress.

Listing each type of crime committed in Compton in just the past week, for instance to get an overview of the situation, could be considered too far to the left to be appropriate.  Imagine the crimes being committed, and them continuing ongoing month after month, year after year, as if Compton were a zone in the throes of death left for its own survival.

Evening of September 12th, 2017:
According to statistics culled today from<https://www.neighborhoodscout.com/ca/compton>, Compton has about 10 crimes per thousand, or about 1 in 99 persons.  The population is just under 100,000.

Robbery and theft rank high as among the most prevalent type of crime that takes currently place in Compton.
