Juneteenth Legislation Signed, Next Steps Eyed

Some units changed from Confederacy to Union during the Civil War. Further sacrifices were made during the era of Reconstruction, when mob violence occurred. The Emancipation Proclamation, a few years before the surrender of Lee to Grant, and the surrender.
The Trail of Tears remains an issue.
