An abundance of ammunition the suspect had access to has been a key predominant theme when reflecting on the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy back the middle of December 2012.
The month of October in 2017, nearly 5 years later, opens up with a perhaps one of the deadliest shootings on U.S. soil performed by an individual on unprotected citizens in at least the past several decades to record; location, was it little that most Americans would suspect?, occurring in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Before even noting that a weapons cache has been uncovered at the suspect's property, memories of what unfolded at Sandy Hook are already brought to the surface.
A two digit number that did not have a 1 in front of it was involved in the number of fatalities at Sandy Hook, each life is important, albeit, the number is a benchmark of a severe tragedy.
At the strip in Las Vegas, was a startling number that begun with another number, thus far, beginning with 5, and nearing closer to 6, as time moves in the aftermath.
To set before readers that Sandy Hook is reminded of by the Las Vegas incident yesterday, and there are similarities, is nothing aberrant, as a matter of fact, the Senator from Connecticut, Chris Murphy, (Democrat), has brought the same realization to the forefront, and with words to the effect that something must be done immediately to make immediate change.
Other similarities might include the emotional and psychological condition of the person that carried out the shooting, and selection of method of carrying the shooting out.
Hopefully the common denominators, the ones alluded to and others, allow us to see what may bring about the change needed for a safer atmosphere here in America.
