Something warranting emergency attention has happened having to do with the Washington DC METRO train system; going on right now, and within the past several hours, 7:30pm E.S.T., L'Enfant Metro Station, smoke filled the structure from 'unknown source'; the station sits between the National Mall and 395, near renown memorials; there is a lot of black smoke, soot, people covered in soot, people panicking, and lack of clarity. Location on or near 7th and D Streets, or that location is involved. The weather is somewhat cloudy and overcast, making it increasingly challenging for emergency responders.
One person, a woman, is reported deceased succumbing, and about 60 persons are in hospitals, the incident to blame.
The event comes within a few days after a small bomb detonated northeast of Kolkata in India, in Dum Sum railway station, injuring 2 children. It also comes after a series of attacks in Paris last week.
