The last thing DC area residents need, is a fireman to hesitate one second beyond what is necessary in responding to an emergency.
Incidents such as a fireman being attacked after responding, already putting their lives on the line, to have an additional danger of being attacked by the residents of a property the fireman went to, need not to be.
That seems to be almost exactly what happened though, a group of individuals assaulted the fireman after arriving. Location 200 block of 37th Street in Southeast DC, about 12 this afternoon today, Sunday.
