Two DCs Continue
Posted by HCN on Sunday, June 17, 2018
Long before there was Internet news accessible at our fingertips, multiple stabbings used to occur as the form of violent crime that used to come in as the second most popular sort after gun violence, generally speaking without splitting hairs over crime statistics, referring to a height of violent crime for DC in the middle 1980s. Below the June 14th news story posted at http://wjla.com/news/crime/dc_double_stabbing_homicide_eastern_avenue, 'DC police investigate double stabbing in Southeast that left 1 man dead', is a message in a box dated June 8th for media inquiries to be made to MPD. This is not an inquiry, this a brief analysis, and alerting warning news readers and adults with a sense of morals and responsibility, that the 'two DCs', one with violent crime in residential areas, and the second, Capitol Hill, is a situation perpetuating on, and if not careful, will become a perment rendering of the one place, which is the Capital of the Country.
We simply cannot have two DCs while there is one DC, and hope to be successful.
The 400 block of Eastern Avenue is the area where Maryland borders with DC, at the far right corner of the city, shaped like a diamond.
There was a moving incident a few days ago, where a contractor was shot, then reportedly shot again at close range, while trying to install cameras at a local pool.
Residents here in Washington that have been reading the papers for decades are able to within seconds sub-categorize the type of evil presence that lurks.
Here is what was posted on the HCN Google Plus page a couple of days ago:
A little further out into the suburbs, outside the DC line, '30' human trafficking victims accounted for, in the 'friendly' and 'classy' 'nice' neighborhoods, where for many years, top dollars are paid to live and shop. Thankfully the crime ring was busted, however, it goes to show you that there is a 'dwindling' dimension that has been going on here in the DC area, to describe the level of morality that has been an undercurrent thriving among us. There is bound to be more; but, the focus on a particular location of a nmassage parlor here or there, a stash of narciotics in this house or that, a weapon used to stab someone found in a house near a crime scene, these are not necessarily what to focus on to solve the proble; the focus is the attitude in the undercurrent, the low morals that crept into the fabric of society, and insiduously, or slowly while it sneaked in, that are unacceptable, that got accepted here.

It might not be our, my, HCN, how ever it can be put, which should be put aside, place, to make any comment; albeit, let it be known that this is not the city that was here in the two dozen years just before the young man and victim was granted life. In other words, the victim is reportedly about 24 years old, 24 years ago, DC recuperated from undergoing one of the most violent crime waves that has approached US history referring to the mid 1980s. Even in the 1980s, for several '10 year olds' to be in on the violence was almost unheard of. DC was trying to grasp with the concept of teenagers involved in violence.
This is where things have digressed to, even children who barely have enough time on earth to be developed enough to understand life, death, and the ethics and values of it, are a part of the fabric of violent crime.
We cannot allow the Nation's Capital to turn into the mileu of regularity, where it becomes the culture, the norm, to be a hotbed of violence that includes children not old enough to attend junior high school perpetrating violence, and victims that have just started their career path.
I have been by Stonewall Jackson High School enough occassions, and when I saw the conditions of the area that the contractor was shot in the video, that the level where these are, that they were allowed to go that ravaged, below the point of being basal, is, needless to say an outrage.
Older responsible adults and authority figures need to come together, not just in words on a paper, or a rally speech, a vigil, vigil at the high school, gatherings of neighborhood families and officials, those have been done before to the extent it is nearly hackneyed, but seriously start moving conditions to something noticeably better.
