The multi-national securities firm has had several or more, ranging from 4 to 7 individuals, cited for having allegations against them for certain types of financial maneuvering in the investment industry construct. Charges have been filed, perhaps an escalation from mere suspicion. At least one of them is an American, and some educated by renown universities in the US.
SMBC, headquartered in Tokyo, has a history in its founding in 2009, albeit, with a history of outgrowths of firms dating back to at least the early 1900s.
SMBC has been in the news before in regard to controversial developments going on.
