Rideshare Parents Worst Nightmare, Child Missing. Fortunately Child Found.

November 6, 2023
A Maryland 13 year old male youth was missing starting around October 30th, last seen in a well known intersection of New Jersey/ New York Ave, not too far from DC museums and major public transportation hubs, in connection to a Uber ride.

Plainly, fortunately the young man has been reunited with his family.

In lieu of going into what kinds of measures were about to be taken to find him, -
Let it be said that there are certain precautions to take before allowing a dependent or vulnerable person into a rideshare:
Just because there is an app, and tracker, does not assure 100% accountability of everything that happens for every second and every amount of distance traveled.
  • Riders have been attacked, drivers have been attacked.
  • Unfortunately there are drivers out there that use the rideshare programs to supplement or decoy criminal activity, even if very subtly.
Safety Tips:
  • It may be strongly recommended, that if your teenager, elderly spouse, great grandparent over 80, recently released hospital patient, were to have a rideshare arranged, to make sure that they have a photo communication source, such as a cellular phone, it is charged up sufficient to stay on it during the ride, where you can see and talk to the rider until they meet their destination.
  • Get the driver name, and other validated identification before the ride starts.

Reston Virginia in Spotlight Due to Knife Wielding Masked Male Late Night Condo Break-in Assault on Female

August 23, 2022
Need there be said more? Authorities put forth the effort and captured the suspect.
Angles of support for prevention and guaranteed abatement of late-night condo assaults: Remember that it might not so much be the playing out of the assault, whereas a suspect may do very little once in the 'situation' where he or she could commit a crime, rather (perhaps from a psychological point of view), the joy the suspect finds is in that the situation exists, with the risk of being caught, the dramatic m...

Harry Reid.
Mark Wellman.
The DC area has known them for years.

Assistant Dean at University of Maryland, was Wellman. College Park campus especially.

Thoughts may include how will their shoes be filled? Why it is important to have next generations educated and prepared.

Two DCs Continue

June 17, 2018

Fireman 'Jumped'. This Does Not Go On.

August 14, 2017
The last thing DC area residents need, is a fireman to hesitate one second beyond what is necessary in responding to an emergency.

Incidents such as a fireman being attacked after responding, already putting their lives on the line, to have an additional danger of being attacked by the residents of a property the fireman went to, need not to be.

That seems to be almost exactly what happened though, a group of individuals assaulted the fireman after arriving.  Location 200 block of 37th Street i...

August 26, 2016
The powerful fire that took place at a complex at the Flower Branch Apartments, not too far from Piney Branch Road, has some aspects which are popularly understood, and other aspects that might seem abstract.

Some might ask, how can one explosion take an entire apartment down in so little time?

A few things to consider.  Often when an apartment or residential fire is thought of, pictures seen in news stories are abundant of yellowish or orange flames.  These types of fires are often from common...
